Fernandina Beach High School Foundation Annual Feast raises record $140,000

Posted

The Fernandina Beach High School Foundation’s Annual Feast, held Feb. 7, 2026, at Walker’s Landing on Amelia Island, raised more than $140,000 to support students’ education at Fernandina Beach High School — more than doubling the proceeds from last year’s event.

The sold-out fundraiser welcomed approximately 200 guests and benefited the Foundation’s mission to enhance educational opportunities for more than 1,000 students in grades 9–12 at Fernandina Beach High School.

“This year’s Feast demonstrated the extraordinary generosity of our community and its commitment to public education,” said Stephanie Lunt, president of the Fernandina Beach High School Foundation. “These funds directly support innovative classroom projects and improvements that enrich the student experience.”

Chef Michael Gass led students from the Fernandina Beach High School culinary program in preparing all food served during the event, showcasing the talents of the school’s own students while supporting the Foundation’s mission.

The evening began with a cocktail reception and oyster roast, followed by a formal program featuring remarks from school and Foundation leaders. Highlights included a message from FBHS Principal Chris Webber recognizing faculty and staff achievements, as well as the presentation of the Mainsail Award to longtime Foundation supporter Ginny Burnet in recognition of her continued dedication to the Foundation and its programs.

The event also honored 2025–2026 Teacher of the Year Sarah Twardy and Staff Person of the Year Cheryl Goodman. A lively auction featuring trips, experiences and original artwork donated by local businesses further boosted fundraising totals.

Wallace Pierson Travel served as the presenting sponsor of the event.

Community members are encouraged to continue supporting the Fernandina Beach High School Foundation to build on the momentum of this record-breaking fundraiser. Donations help sustain teacher grants and facility enhancements that provide exceptional educational experiences for local students.
