The Fernandina Beach High School Foundation awarded its second round of Program Grants for the 2025–2026 school year on Dec. 17, distributing nine grants totaling $6,918.25 to teachers at Fernandina Beach High School and Fernandina Beach Middle School for classroom activities.
Teachers apply for grants by requesting funds for specific classroom projects, ensuring dollars are directed toward hands-on, student-centered learning. This round of awards follows a September distribution of more than $18,000 across 25 teacher-led projects.
Funded projects include:

Founded in 1987, the Fernandina Beach High School Foundation is an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to providing “The Pirate Advantage” for every student. Through its $1 million, 10-year commitment, the Foundation awards approximately $100,000 annually in classroom, facility, and program support. The Board of Trustees is working to grow the endowment to more than $2 million by 2028 to support its programs into perpetuity.
The Foundation raises funds through community support and signature events, including Foundation Feast, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Walker’s Landing. The popular fundraiser features an oyster roast, live auction, and student-prepared cuisine from the FBHS Culinary Arts program. Tickets go on sale soon here.
