Story & Song’s ‘Let’s Listen’ series presents a look at education

Posted

With 13,000 students, 17 schools, and a 91% graduation rate, Nassau County ranks among the highest-performing public school systems in Florida. How is education keeping up with today’s ever-changing and fast-moving society? What should its focus be? What are the biggest challenges today faced by teachers and curriculum? Does technology make students lazier or smarter? Where should students learn life skills?

These are a few of the items to be addressed by national experts at Story & Song Center for Arts and Culture on Sunday, Oct. 18, 3-5 p.m. This latest episode of “Let’s Listen” will look “Beyond the Three ‘Rs” and seek your thoughts on what’s good and what could be better in educating Nassau County’s future.

This monthly community dialogue is designed to encourage conversation, opinion, and listening to an assortment of viewpoints on topics pertinent to life in Nassau County.

“Let’s Listen: Healing the Great Divides” is a 10-month discussion series in 2026 sponsored by the Theodore and Pauline Cohen Trust, with support from Jeffrey and Shelley Hirshberg.
