FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – Publix Super Markets Charities surprised Barnabas Center with a donation ahead of the store’s July 2 grand opening. Publix Manager Josh Williamson presented the Barnabas Center team with a $15,000 check to help expand the pantry's cold storage capabilities. Not only that, but the store also donated an additional two pallets of healthy food to the pantry.

“Our community is very blessed to have partnerships like this,” said Barnabas Center President and CEO Jamie Reynolds. “This helps support our entire healthy food program: the pantry, mobile distributions and our general outreach in the community. It’s so exciting for a major company like Publix to support us.”

These funds will go toward increased refrigeration and freezing capacity at Barnabas Center’s Fernandina Beach food pantry. The donated food will be used at the pantry and mobile food distributions.

Publix Super Markets Charities and Barnabas Center showcase a true community partnership. Working together, these two organizations strive to address food insecurity amongst our neighbors in need.
