Front Porch Beads donates to America’s Youth

Front Porch Beads recently donated $2,000 to the Nassau chapter of America’s Youth, presented at a volunteer “beading workshop” at the Journey Church in Yulee. These funds will help to fund their programs for kids in Fernandina Beach, helping to reduce juvenile crime and instill positive values, character and leadership skills.

Established in 2018, Front Porch Beads is a local volunteer-driven organization that raises funds for various charities in Nassau County through the creation and sale of beautiful hand-made jewelry. “Our goal is to meet the needs of individuals and families in Nassau County who may be homeless or face significant financial, medical, social or psychological challenges” says Frances Peters, FPB Founder. “We also fund other organizations that serve a wide range of charitable activities throughout the county.”

Over the past six years, FPB has raised and distributed over $110,000 from the sale of bracelets, necklaces, earrings and other jewelry pieces, all made locally by unpaid volunteers.

The local office of America’s Youth is at 907 S. 11th Street in Fernandina Beach. “This gift will help us continue to provide better futures for our members,” says Daisy Hester from America’s Youth.

“For 26 years, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that all our participants are on track to graduate high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and leadership skills and living a healthy lifestyle.”

Front Porch Beads has regular weekly or bi-weekly workshops, free and open to all.
