Songwriters Offer Third Annual Festival April 10-12

Posted

Fans of original music will gather to celebrate the third annual Songwriters Festival. Founded by music industry veteran Tammy Rogers King, Fernandina local and songwriter Sean McCarthy, and avid music-lover Alexandra Maddox, the festival showcases an impressive lineup of songwriters from across the nation, highlighting both their chart-topping music and the compelling stories behind their songs.

Now operating under the banner of The Fernandina Songwriters Foundation, the festival kicks off Thursday, April 10, with an exclusive VIP meet-and-greet, granting special access to festival performers for sponsors and VIP ticket holders. Additionally, the Foundation is offering a songwriter workshop hosted by Belmont University songwriting professors Thomm Jutz and Liz Hengber at Story & Song Bookstore Bistro. This free workshop is a two-hour event that songwriters can RSVP for by emailing their name and phone number to fernandinasongwritersfestival@gmail.com.

On Friday, April 11, the festival shifts into high gear with songwriter rounds featuring two sets from each featured artist. Complementing these headline acts, talented local musicians will perform at various venues around Amelia Island, keeping the music flowing throughout the weekend. Friday evening offers special opportunities for VIP and ticketed guests, including autograph sessions, photo ops, and personal stories shared by the songwriters themselves. A performance by Troubadour Blue will headline Friday’s festivities. The festival culminates on Saturday, April 12, with extended showcase performances by featured artists, climaxing in the evening with the “Grand Ole Opry Showcase.”

"We are so excited for the third year of our annual songwriter festival! We have exciting new plans in the works," festival co-founder Tammy Rogers King says. "Every year we have been able to bring more music to Fernandina and give back to the awesome community!"

Tickets and more information can be found on the festival website.

Entering its second year as a nonprofit organization, The Fernandina Songwriter Foundation continues its mission to enrich local culture and support emerging artists, offering a unique blend of intimate performances and meaningful engagement between songwriters and audiences.
