The Rotary Club of Fernandina Beach has received the Rotary International 2024-25 Club
Excellence Award. This award honors clubs “for fostering a positive experience for its members
and reflecting the values of Rotary.”
For the 2024-25 Program Year, fewer than 30% of Rotary Clubs in District 6970 received this award.
During each club meeting, our members collect “Happy Dollars” to provide financial support to
charities, both local and regional. For 2024-25, donations were made to Cross The Line
Foundation (Veterans Support), ShelterBox USA (Hurricane Disaster Relief - FL/NC), BSA Troops
89 / 9888, and Keep Nassau Beautiful (Water Refill Station).
Our club sponsored & partnered with additional groups this past year, including FB Main Street,
FBHS (Business Partner), FBHS Pirates Band, FBHS Cheerleaders, Habitat For Humanity (She
Nailed It), Right Whale Ambassador, and SACT (Students Against Child Trafficking, Online
Awareness & Prevention Education).
Since 1993, we have awarded scholarships to graduating seniors in Nassau County for a total of
$ 650,000 to 350 students. For this year, our 2025 Scholarship Awards achieved a new record -
$45,750 to 43 graduating seniors from FBHS, YHS, HMSHS, WNHS, Nassau County Adult
Education, and Sonshine Christian Academy.
The Rotary Club of Fernandina Beach was founded in May 1926 and is celebrating its 100th
program year serving our community. The club meets every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to
1:00 p.m. at Story & Song Bistro. For more information about Rotary, please be our guest at a
