Humane Society opens The Closet $2.0 to offer lifesaving impact for local families and homeless pets

Fernandina Beach, Florida - As families continue looking for ways to stretch their budgets, Nassau Humane Society is opening a new all-$2 “last chance store” that combines affordable shopping with community impact. The store will offer a wide variety of discounted items — all priced at just $2 — while every purchase directly supports the care of local shelter animals.

The Closet $2.0 will give donated items one final opportunity to find a home before being discarded, turning bargain shopping into lifesaving support for homeless pets. Shoppers can browse clothing, shoes, accessories, and other unique treasures while knowing their purchases help provide food, shelter, medical care, and second chances for animals in need.

“This store is truly about second chances,” said Chantel Scherer, Executive Director. “Second chances for donated items, second chances for families looking for affordable shopping options, and most importantly, second chances for the animals we care for every day.”

The concept was created to make shopping accessible and fun while also helping the organization maximize support from donated goods. With all items priced at one simple price point, shoppers can expect an easy and exciting treasure-hunt experience every time they visit.

Revenue generated from sales at Second Chance Resale Store, The Closet Boutique and now The Closet $2.0 directly benefits Nassau Humane Society’s mission of improving the lives of homeless animals through shelter, compassionate care, adoptions, and community programs.

Community members are encouraged to stop by, shop often, and support local animals with every purchase.
