Fernandina Beach City Commissioner Chip Ross and his wife Faith Ross were honored by the Amelia Tree Conservancy Thursday with a live oak planted at Volunteers Grove on 13th Street.
Ross has served on the city commission since 2017 and previously served on the city's Planning Advisory Board.
Faith Ross has been a city activist having served on the city's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Board of Adjustment. She also was involved with volunteer organizations like the Amelia Tree Conservancy, Sierra Club and Keep Nassau Beautiful.
"As you (both) served on commissions and boards, the community could always count on you to ask probing and thoughtful questions. Often you were the only vote of dissent or consent of an opposing view. That takes courage, and most importantly integrity," said ATC President Lyn Pannone.
