Amelia Island Opera announces its inaugural Paul Bosland Vocal Competition to be held Saturday, Sept. 27 at Memorial United Methodist Church.
This exciting new event will spotlight the talent and artistry of young vocalists ages 15-19 – including high school singers and college freshmen from across the region. Vocal selections will include musical theatre, operatic, and art song played by pianist Dr. Dawom Kwong. Over $2,000 in prizes will be awarded. Judges will be Sarah Purser, mezzo-soprano and Opera Orlando's education director, Torlef Borsting, baritone and First Coast Opera development director, and Lisa Lockhard, soprano and vocal faculty at FSCJ.
The event is sponsored and named in honor of donor and longtime Amelia Island Opera board member Paul Bosland.
