Amelia Island Museum of History's Love Legacy Gala tickets available now

The Amelia Island Museum of History has gone live with ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities for its Love Legacy Gala on Feb 14, 2026, hosted at the historic Hoyt House. This is the first time the museum has had a gala like this, and the need is great.

The Hoyt House is donating the venue in celebration of the one-year anniversary of its new owners, Lindy and David Chapman, and other local businesses and friends of Fernandina are stepping up to offset costs, including The Decantery, Palace Saloon, Marlin & Barrel Distillery, Highclere Castle Gin, Southern Glazer Fine Wines, The Ash Street Cigar Bar, the Nassau County Jazz Band, Amy Bass live, and KP Designs for flowers. Because we are keeping costs low, most of what you spend on tickets or sponsorships will go directly to the museum!

The museum’s website gives a clear explanation of WHY this gala is so important, but in summary, the museum runs a tight budget annually and with it, does so much for the community: providing regular and special programming and tours; supporting local events; maintaining an archive of our island’s history and historic properties; and operating a historic building. The museum has only four full-time employees, supported by a few part-time employees and hundreds of volunteers.

Two of the museum’s four full-time employees (the two most senior with over 20+ years of experience each) will be retiring soon. It will be difficult to replace them without a basic benefit package, including a small retirement benefit and healthcare stipend. Your support of this special event will help the museum achieve its goal of establishing competitive hiring packages and help keep the history of our island alive! Don’t we all agree that our island’s history is one of the things that makes our community special!

The museum is hoping to have a large turnout from across the community. Please buy your tickets and encourage friends to join you at the event – this event is for everyone, not just couples.

There will be a tent and seating at tables, live music, passed hors d’oeuvres, specialty “period” drinks and fine French wines, a full catered buffet dinner, top drawer liquors, commemorative photos by a “period” automobile, and more. Live music and a DJ will keep everything festive. The museum will be sharing historic love stories throughout the evening to highlight the island’s history. Please dress in cocktail or dress “period” cocktail (~1870 -~1910) attire.

There are very special benefits as part of the top three levels of sponsorship, including a pre-party, commemorative cups, and very special speakeasy access! All sponsorship levels include a museum membership for 2026. Please consider a sponsorship!

Tickets are on sale now. And please consider staying at one of the historic B&B’s, such as The Hoyt House, The Williams House, The Addison on Amelia Island, The Fairbanks House, or other local lodging venues to walk to the event and really enjoy this special evening.

Even if you are unable to attend, any donation made to support this event is very much appreciated. If you have not visited the museum on S. Third Street, complimentary docent tours are included with admission at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. (Sundays only 2 p.m.). It’s worth a visit! Please help our amazing local museum by supporting this special event.
