About 1,600 demonstrators turned out in force Saturday morning for the national "No Kings" rally in Fernandina Beach protesting the policies of the Trump Administration.

Protesters lined Eighth Street at the intersection of Lime Street, urging passing vehicles to honk their car horns in support of the demonstration.

Here are photos captured by participants at the rally.

Just read a great article at ZeroHedge on this topic.

"....white liberal boomer parade...." and "no kings is a reminder that elderly hippie boomers are still tormenting America" and "nothing says 'we care about democracy' like showing up to a rally sponsored by communists".

Those quotes sum up yesterday's meet-n-greets perfectly.

We’re proud that so many people came together peacefully to stand for democracy and our shared freedoms. Everyone who showed up did so with respect and love for this community. We’ll keep using our voices to build a better future, that’s what civic engagement looks like.

No one was tormenting anyone. Actually, there were people across the age spectrum, including children. It was a peaceful, joyful rally of people using their first amendment rights to express their displeasure with the shutdown and the chaos in Washington. There were people who met neighbors who they did not expect to see there, not realizing that they were on the same side of history.

The vast majority of the vehicles were also supportive.

The intensity with which the administration has attacked and derided the NO KINGS protests is the best indicator of how this civic resistance is threatening to the regime

Hurling lables like "hamas supporting", marxists, communists, terrorisits just shows that they have no substantive counterarguments to their opposition - just call names and demonize - transferance is a super power of the Trump government - they have no reasonable defense so they "flood the zone" with slander and disinformation

We will not be deterred from protecting the BEST of what America is! The history, the integrity, the generosity, the caring for those less fortunate - THIS is what democracy looks like!
